Dear Ms. Miller,

"Thank you for encouraging your students to be a part of the 2021 All Kids Included (AKI) Student Art Competition!  This year’s theme, of Celebrating Diversity, Inclusion and Empowerment inspired by the book, I Believe I Can by Grace Byers, illustrated by Keturah A. Bobo, resonated with so many students across Miami-Dade County."

Karmisha Guerier, Merlyne Jean Pierre, Daphca Dalge, and Wishkerlyne Hall have received an award.

"We are very appreciative of their time and talent.  We are especially thankful to all of the teachers who continually encourage the efforts of their students and who took the time in class to share this contest.  We realize how full the school day can be, and your support of the arts and its importance in the lives of your students is truly appreciated!

All Kids Included is pleased to announce that The Mexican Consulate will be hosting an in-person art exhibition of all contestant entries with an exhibition opening April 14, 2021 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Lent During Covid

During this unique Lenten season, where we all feel the effects of a year of loss and sacrifice, let us take time to reflect on our relationship with God; just as Jesus did during his forty days in the desert.

Consider where the deserts are in your life. Are they made from habit, daily routine, isolation?

How can you use the three pillars of Lent, fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, to grow closer to God this Lent?

Miami… (Sept. 16, 2020) Archbishop Thomas Wenski, after consultation with Archdiocese of Miami administrators, pastors, and school principals is announcing Catholic Schools in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, while continuing to offer “distance learning,” will phase in the return of students to in-classroom instruction beginning Wednesday, September 23rd.
Each school (including 49 elementary schools and eight high schools) has in place a “Phase In” plan to facilitate the orderly return to in-classroom instruction. School Mass, Virtually

Picture

Today was our first school Mass since we all started staying safer at home.  Thank you to Mgsr. Chanel, Mrs. Lopez, Mr. Josh, Ms. Madeleine, Saniyah and everyone who made this happen.  Even though we could not be together physically, watching the Mass, singing our favorite songs, and knowing that so many of you, our St. James Family, were joining us in prayer at the same time, made me feel that we are still together SPIRITUALLY.

If you tried to join the Mass but had technical issues, please complete the tech help request form and Mr. Josh will work with you to fix it.  We want you there!

Links to the Mass can be found here. We will be celebrating School Mass each Friday for the rest of the school year.  Please join us!

Also, if you have any great photos/videos of you and your family joining in Mass (or any other school activity) from home, feel free to send them to admin@stjamesmiami.net.  We miss you all and love seeing your beautiful faces.

Bringing Learning Closer

We are so proud of our parents, students, and teachers.  Even when we can't be with each other physically, this time has allowed us to grow closer spiritually and digitally, as well as academically.

We have received a few pictures from parents and students of all of the hard work you are doing.  We hope that these images bring as much joy to you as they do to us.

Please feel free to email your favorite "Learning@Home" photos to admin@stjamesmiami.net.  We would love to see and to share what you are doing in your home.
